I heard you get double charged tips in a cruise. Is that correct?
Prices of soft drinks, beer, wine, and spirits, etc will be charged to the on-board account which you settle up at the end of the cruise with a credit card or cash. They will automatically add a 15% tip. Then they charge the per person tips that will automatically be added to the account as well -- figure $10 per person per day for that. Is this correct? So, if my on-board account comes out to $300 and I cruise from Dec 31st to Jan 4th and there are 2 adults and 1 child (6 y.o) we could be charged a total of $495 -- which would be $300 + $45 (15%) + $150 = $495.
No double Charge -- a tip for drinks and then separate Gratuity for the rest.
